Team German traveler Mathias Jeschke arrived in Moscow. The Russian capital is the next item on the world expedition "Paris / New York - Transcontinental 2009". In the next four months to be brave to drive more than 17 thousand kilometers in the harsh winter conditions on roads and areas of our country. Two Car Jeep Wrangler went on a trip around the world. The departure was given in October 2008 in Paris, the team will finish in May 2009 in New York. Until today, two crews had to go round half of Europe, and now they will, perhaps, the most difficult part - from west to east across Russia. Matthias Jeschke lead the team in Kazan, Perm, Ekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Altai. During the second decade of travelers to be done the way to Yakutsk, the month will be spent on the route to Magadan, and one month - from Magadan, across the Bering Strait to Uelen in Chukotka. Upon arrival in Moscow, Matthias Jeschke and his team spoke at a press conference in the building of the German Embassy. Representative of our country in the team was selected Evgeny Shmakov, who managed to travel all over the north-eastern part of Russia. He is not afraid of extreme riding conditions, as familiar with the techniques of survival, including in the winter. To his task - to ensure the team of Mathias support to the Bering Strait - Russian "dzhiper" reacted with enthusiasm and optimism, citing jokes "Harness - pull!". Eugene does not try to predict what will happen to the expedition in our area, it's going to focus on the spot. Most likely, it will need assistance to technology, as well as improving relations with the locals. The Germans, for their part, expressed hope that in case of danger, protect them from Russian polar bears. Project Manager, 36-year-old Matthias Jeschke, is not the first time looking for adventure on his head. In his free time, education has two sons, he created the project "World records on vehicles, which took place in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. In addition, he led an expedition to establish a record in elevation in 2004, 2005 and 2007. During the expedition "Paris / New York - Transcontinental 2009" crew members must pass the test of ice, snow, water and freezing temperatures. To prepare for the trip in winter 2008, the nine-day run to the Pole of Cold: Magadan - Ojmjakon - Magadan. During these days, the team tested the car and ammunition. Incidentally, in the coldest part of the Russian team will be equipped with clothes, which is used by workers on the Kolyma, masks and shoes manufactured in Russia. Expedition leader complained that the team members are tired, most of the time they spend on the road. In Europe, they drove several hundred miles a day behind the wheel sat in the queue. In Milan, there was a curious case: the jeeps were parked on the street and, naturally, attracted general attention. In our country there is no ethanol production, especially the second generation, so the supply of fuel, the expedition being taken with them in a tank volume of 850 l..
