Lubyansky drift

June 12, 2009 in central Moscow held competitions to drift. One day drifter was given the opportunity to ride "in the drift" right on Lubyanka Square. International Festival of drift gathered eighteen experienced drifters from Russia and Ukraine. Among them, the champion of "Formula Drift-2008" Andrei Bogdanov Toyota Altezza; his teammate Moscow Drift Team - champion of the Formula Drift 2007 - Alexei Semenov on the Nissan Silvia S14; silver medalist in 2008 - Ilia Kondratiev on Toyota Mark II of JZ-Brothers; champion of Ukraine in 2008 - Odessa Alexander Grinchuk on Nissan 350 Z; Timothy Kosharnaya of Che Drift Team at Nissan Silvia S 14 - pilot from St. Petersburg, has represented our country in Europe, and, of course, the favorite of the public Fedor Sparrow on VAZ-2105, which now represents the command Lukoil Racing and many other equally masterovitye drifters. In general, before the start of the competition it became clear that the fight will be with serious! True, during the training is not all pilots were able to show their potential and go into the final of the competition. Possibly affected the excitement or the lack of training on this track - after all not every day is given the opportunity podriftit in central Moscow. But even when the race started Top 8, the pilots showed the audience a spectacular drift pair. Unfortunately, the spectators, who gathered on Lubyanka Square, it was clear not all. Virtually the entire perimeter of the site for drift was blocked by a rather high and does not clear the fence. Perhaps this was done for security purposes, because the very fence route consisted of somewhere from 15 concrete blocks, which, of course, for the competition of this level is not enough. But this, and slightly crumpled organization does not have strongly influenced the entertainment performances of pilots who have already entered into the taste and adjust to their new track. Speeches pilots evaluated: drifter Yevgeny Leonov from St. Petersburg, the organizer of Ukrainian competitions Max Miller, a panel of judges headed by Aleksander Smolar - permanent judge of the championship of Formula Drift. " In the final contest judges had particularly difficult - George Stepanian on "very driftovom car», Nissan Silvia S 15, battled for victory with Fedor Vorobyev, the only driver acting on the car of domestic production. To determine the winner had to spend three series races. Fedor recently successfully performed in St. Petersburg, where the first stage of a professional championship series "Formula Drift" took third place, and he naturally did not want to lower the bar of their achievements. For George it was the first start of the season, but he impressed everyone with his willingness and eventually became the winner of the International Festival of drift. George Stepanian, winner of the competition: "The opponents I've had a very experienced and strong, and for the most part due to luck I managed to get ahead. For me, this victory is very valuable - it's my first win in drifting. " Feast of drift in Lubyanka Square lasted just one day, but during this time he has a host of new fans. Walking in the center of city residents and visitors stopped to admire the spectacular drifts, and interested to find out what you can again see a similar competition. The next meeting of drifters held June 27 at the Crocus Expo in stage II championship of Formula Drift. " Final Pos.
