According to Chairman of the Board of Directors of PSA Peugeot Citroen Philippe Varin, the cost of the Peugeot 308 will be less than the limit of 600 thousand rubles. But Mitsubishi is not going to lower prices due to the localization of production. Production of a complete cycle will be established by 2012. During this period, annual production capacity will reach 125,000 cars. Of them - 85 000 C-class cars and 40,000 SUVs. Until the end of this year, the plant will assemble about 20,000 vehicles. Investment of the project amounted to 470 million euros. Share of the company PSA Peugeot Citroen is 70%, and Mitsubishi - 30%. The factory is located in an industrial area near the village Rosva 15 km from Kaluga and 180 km from Moscow. Its territory of 200 hectares is still going construction. By its end there will be located two buildings, which will be posted shop welding, assembly and painting. The company will provide the area 3,000 jobs. About 30 ha will be allocated to suppliers. Search the site for construction works started in spring 2007. Considered options such as St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Tula, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaluga. By year end, the choice fell on the Kaluga region. After signing in early 2008, agreements between the regional administration and the French company in April at the facility began operation. In the spring of 2008 between the French and Japanese companies was signed cooperation, and work on the plant began to argue - in June, was laid the first stone. And now, after two years, the plant started assembling cars. This is the third car plant in the Kaluga region. In 2007 this region was a plant Volkswagen, and in 2008 sit down next to his Volvo Trucks. Governor of the Kaluga region Anatoly Artamonov said that automobile manufacturers in his region well enough to attract here component manufacturers for the machines.
